I am inspired by the Australian Democrats ability to work in Parliament with both other parties and act as a check and balance on power. I care about the impact the lack of regulated Government is having on our Quality of Life.
As Democrat parliamentarians have the right to a conscience vote and are not beholden to big business, unions or interest groups, the Democrats are better able to represent you as an independent voice.
Over-population, the world credit crisis, waste and climate change,are just some of the factors that are spiralling Kingston, Australia and the World down the path of no return. If you care about the important issues and are tired of politicians with no answers, then look towards a new future with Matthew Fowler, Kingston 2007. "The Change You're Looking For!" Why
people should vote for me?
I believe in you, this is about what I can do for you when you elect me for parliament. I am not afraid to tackle the hard hitting issues. Traditionally the democrats have stood up for the populous and I am going to expand on that tradition. You’re electing me to bring your voice to parliament and make the decisions that will benefit all of the Kingston electorate.
About Me
I am 43 and in a relationship. We live on Kangaroo Island and I frequently commute through Kingston to Adelaide. When asked to stand for the Democrats, I chose Kingston because the region is the gateway between Adelaide and Kangaroo Island. I have been living in South Australia for 4 years and before that I lived at Uluru and Alice Springs for a total of 12 years. I have extensive knowledge in community negotiation and formulation of service infrastructure which will help the people in the electorate of Kingston.
In 2006, I Completed the South Australian Rural Leadership Program and I am a keen supporter of the Onkaparinga Council’s Leadership Program.
In 2000 I ran for Council in Alice Springs and then for Mayor of Kangaroo Island in 2006. During my 20 years of experience as a coordinator, I have worked closely with Indigenous communities throughout Australia and care about the treatment of our First Australians welfare, mental health and wellbeing. I am working hard to provide solutions to the problems faced by our global community;
I have been a local church member on Kangaroo Island and was elected Synod Rep in 2006. My spiritual awareness allows me to see all view points on religious matters and provides me a basis of multicultural religious worship. Due to that upbringing and background, I am passionate about Human Rights and how they relate to Indigenous Australians.
I have skills in speaking 3 Indigenous Languages and was awarded the NAIDOC Non Indigenous Central Australian of the Year award for providing computer training at the Institute for Aboriginal Development. Previously I taught the first TAFE Indigenous Tour Guide Program.
