Why
I am Running
I honestly believe that the Australian Democrats are ready once
again to represent a new and dynamic Australia. The electorate of
Barker is always viewed as an ‘easy win’ by the Liberal party, yet
they fail to address the deeper concerns of our residents.
More funding is desperately needed in areas
such as mental-health, aged-care, child-care and
telecommunications. Nothing has been spent on new initiatives
such as organic farming and the value adding of our rural
products, alternative energy solutions
South Australia’s 2nd and 4th
largest cities are located within my electorate and yet they still
have no universities.
When elected to Parliament, I will value the
position instead of taking it for granted.
Why
should people vote for me?
I understand the local issues and am committed to making Barker a
better place, for our people and our land.
About Me
Both my parents are descendants of early South Australian
settlers, so I have a genuine love of this region’s rural and
urban landscapes. Publicly educated, my working life began as a
shearer in Bordertown. Since I have been to university, I had
served 5 years in the Royal Australian Navy as a RADAR
technician. I’ve worked in IT, construction, farming, tourism, as
a musician, various driving jobs and on night shift in
manufacturing.
I like both sport and the arts and my interest
include playing and listening to music, cricket, soccer,
snowboarding and my cat ‘Churchill’.
Key

4.
Providing more funding for regional and rural health.
5.
Sustainable use of water including tackling over allocation.
6.
Keeping Government jobs in the country.
7.
Sustainable farming, not stop start drought relief.
8.
No pulp mill without a proper Environmental Assessment.
